Local Rules
1. OUT OF BOUNDS (RULE 27)
On or over any road bounding the course and beyond the nearest inside points at ground level of: -
a) The fence to the right of the 1st hole.
b) The posts and hitching rail fence surrounding the Clubhouse and its enclosures from the path crossing the 18th fairway to the path at the course entrance.
c) The path from the course entrance to the 1st tee.
2. STONES IN BUNKERS
Stones in bunkers are moveable obstructions - Rule 24 – 1 applies
3. ROADS AND PATHS
All artificially surfaced paths (defined by being boarded at both ends) relief may be taken under Rule 24-2. Similar ruling applies to road crossing 18th fairway. The area from which relief may be taken is defined by 4 white posts, relief is obtained by dropping at nearest point behind this area.
All other paths are integral parts of the course. The ball must be played as it lies or declared unplayable (Rule 28)
4. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (RULE 24 - 2)
All manmade structures (i.e. drinking fountains, shelters, Shoe cleaner and surrounding paved area, ordinance survey points, hitching rail fences (except those to the right of the 18th hole) are immovable obstructions from which relief may be obtained under Rule 24 – 2.
5. SEEDED DIVOTS
Relief must be taken - Rule 24-2
6. FIXED SPRINKLER HEADS
All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule 24-2. In addition, if such an obstruction on or within two club lengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may obtain relief, without penalty, as follows:- if the ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard and is within two lengths of the intervening obstruction, it may be lifted, clean and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay which is not (a) nearer the hole, (b) avoids such intervention and (c) is not a hazard or on the putting green
7. PRACTICE AREA
Adjacent to the two bunkers to left of the 1st hole fairway. This green is a wrong putting green - Rule 25-3 applies
8. HEALTH & SAFETY
Players should always ensure that their line of play is clear before proceeding. Where conflicts of play occur e.g. where tees and greens are in close proximity to one another, it is a general principle that the match furthest round the course has priority of play.
Note particularly:- 1st tee/18th green, 6th tee/3rd green, 14th tee/16th green, 15th tee/14th green. It may at times be sensibly convenient for players to vary these priorities but they must do so only with all parties' clear agreement
