Club Sections

All our membership sections have a competitive calendar that offers the chance to play against other clubs from near or far.

This is a great opportunity to meet other members and form new friendships. We encourage as many people to get involved as possible because it’s the best way to experience the inclusive club approach.

  • Ladies Section

Whittington Heath Golf Club is a vibrant club with approximately 75 female members in the Ladies section. The Ladies have several teams for competitive golfers-2 Scratch Teams, 2 Handicap Teams, a Bronze Team and a Winter League Team.

A number of Ladies and Mixed friendly matches against other local clubs are also played over the season. There are also summer, winter knock outs and Eclectic competitions. Weekly and weekend counting competitions are held throughout the year. On Tuesday mornings the course is reserved for Lady members. During the winter there are regular team competitions on Tuesdays and weekends together.

For Ladies who are new to the Club or new to golf, we have a weekly Friday 9 hole roll up, as well as a monthly 9 hole role-up on the last Thursday of the month. As the name suggests members turn up and a draw is made for golf partners. Both these types of golf are organised to help new members get to know other members. Friendly Bridge is played regularly on a Friday morning and the bridge section runs 2 bridge drives per year.

We warmly welcome lady visitors to the club and full catering can be provided outside our normal opening hours for larger visiting parties.

  • Senior's Section

The senior’s section within the club is open to all male members over 57. The section has Spring and Autumn Challenges, which are drawn fourball competitions followed by a meal in the clubhouse. Approximately 30 matches are arranged at home and away with many local clubs.

  • Junior Section

Golf and families do mix!  Whittington Heath prides itself on a junior programme which encourages enjoyment of the game as well as the development of skills.

Resident Professional Ben Paylor-Jones, is the lead member of staff who is dedicated to furthering junior development and helping young golfers to enjoy an introduction to the sport. The approved junior programme includes lessons that cover all areas of general play and golfing etiquette.

Safeguarding of our Junior Members is important to Whittington Heath, and we are fully registered under the England Golf ‘SafeGolf’ accreditation scheme.Click the following link to see the full policy: Safeguarding
