Our junior section is quickly developing into one of the best in the area. Coaching is headed up by PGA Professional Ben Paylor-Jones with the aid of our Junior organisers both of which are DBS and safeguard checked. Our aim is to create a fun and enjoyable platform where by our Juniors can grow and progress through the membership ranks, one day becoming full playing members.
Coaching sessions will be booked in advance with Ben Paylor-Jones or via the Professional shop.
Golf tuition will be tailored to suit players of all abilities therefore encouraging the younger/ beginner juniors to also partake in the group coaching session.
Coaching will take place on Saturdays running every week for 8 weeks with a pre-payment fee of £24 for Junior members and £40 for Non-members.
Session times; 10am – 11am, 11am – 12pm, 12pm – 1pm.
Coaching is delivered in groups no larger than 12 per group.
In order to offer the best possible development for our junior section we host a number of inter club medal and stableford competitions, this is relaxed introduction into competitive golf. For our older juniors with playing experience and handicaps we enter into county singles and 4 ball leagues. New to WHGC junior section is the Golf 6’s, this Team competition is aimed at our young junior without playing handicaps, this shorter format that takes place over 6 holes and is idea for team plumbing, golf club integration and etiquette.
